Rail Advertising
Rail Advertising Case Studies
One Day Agency used rail advertising for Commerce, formerly BigCommerce, as part of the European campaign announcing its rebrand.
Rail advertising mattered because Commerce's audience of senior eCommerce decision-makers travels to industry events and commutes through major stations, making rail environments a reliable way to reach them in transit. In London we ran Motion@theCity rail screens alongside cross-track 16-sheets and digital ribbons. The centrepiece was a Custom House station domination timed around eCommerce Expo at ExCeL London, using XL cross-track hoarding, double-sided glass wall panels, ticket gates and digital 6-sheets, placing Commerce in front of delegates at the exact point they arrived for the event.
Booked for 24 and 25 September, the domination secured 14 additional days of overshow and delivered an estimated 1.18 million impacts. The wider launch delivered an estimated 204.7 million OOH impressions.

Digital Rail Ads for Thames Water
One Day Agency used digital rail advertising for Thames Water, with Copper Consultancy, to raise awareness of a proposed new reservoir and drive participation in the public consultation across Oxfordshire.
For a public infrastructure consultation, repeated local visibility is critical, and rail advertising delivers that against a captive commuter audience travelling the same route daily. We focused the out-of-home activity on Oxford rail environments, combining rail digital 6-sheets with static 4 and 6-sheets to balance dynamic standout with constant presence. That gave the consultation strong visibility among commuters and local travellers in high-traffic transport environments where there is time to read and absorb a longer message.
Rail worked alongside local newspaper placements in the Herald Oxfordshire and Oxford Mail, including print and e-newsletter distribution, plus TikTok, YouTube and Spotify, reaching residents across commuter journeys, trusted local news and audio listening moments.
One Day Agency placed Valla, the legal support platform, across Manchester's rail and tram network as the backbone of an integrated campaign about workplace injustice.
Rail environments gave the creative the dwell it needed. The campaign used real-seeming workplace push notifications, lines such as "You're overreacting" and "Nobody else has complained", layered in deliberate disarray to mirror how disorienting mistreatment at work feels, and that needs more than a passing glance. We used static placements at Manchester Piccadilly Station and 147 interior tram panels across the Metrolink network, where commuters sit with the message, supported by 45 bus rears and 10 city-centre digital 6-sheets.
Out-of-home delivered 15.2 million impressions. Valla's Chief Marketing Officer called seeing the campaign live at Piccadilly Station "a real highlight.”
