Bus Advertising Case Studies
One Day Agency used bus advertising for UNiDAYS as part of Ready For Anything, the student brand's first out-of-home campaign, timed to freshers.
Bus advertising earned its place because buses run the arterial routes students use daily, delivering repeat exposure to both passengers and pedestrians across whole cities rather than single sites. We ran bus advertising across five key cities alongside London Underground tube car panels, key station sites, large format roadside and shopping mall screens, then added eye-level digital 6-sheets at student halls and ad bikes at universities. Budget was allocated by student population density so the heavier student cities carried more weight.
The campaign reshaped UNiDAYS awareness and intent, outperforming 2021 by 100% and breaking a year on year decline running since 2017. It was the brand's first out-of-home activity and their Global Marketing Director called our role "instrumental.”

One Day Agency used bus rears for Feather Down Farms, the premium glamping brand, to build awareness among ABC1 family audiences considering UK staycations.
We chose bus rears because they sit directly in the eyeline of drivers stuck in traffic, giving long dwell times and repeat exposure on residential and commuter routes. We ran them across commuter-heavy towns including Guildford, Oxford and Slough, reaching parents in the car and pedestrians on the same streets. The bus advertising worked alongside static 6-sheets near primary schools in affluent areas to catch parents on the school run, digital 6-sheets in Waitrose and Tesco stores with strong ABC1 profiles, a 96-sheet at Dudley Zoo timed to the May bank holiday, and Sky VOD in primetime.
The integrated campaign delivered more than 12.2 million impressions at a £2.74 OOH CPM.

One Day Agency used bus advertising as a core format for Valla, the legal support platform, in an integrated Manchester campaign about workplace injustice.
Buses did two things no other format in the plan could. The 45 bus rears gave us repeat exposure across residential and commuter routes, reaching drivers and pedestrians at a size that let the campaign's push-notification creative stay legible. Inside the network, 147 interior tram panels across Metrolink gave us dwell, which mattered because lines like "You're overreacting" and "Nobody else has complained" need a moment to land. Digital 6-sheets and Piccadilly Station statics completed the coverage.
Out-of-home delivered 15.2 million impressions across Manchester. After launch, website sessions in the city surged, with direct and organic traffic climbing sharply as people searched for Valla having seen the work.

Bus Panels for Student Beans
One Day Agency used bus advertising to build frequency for Student Beans, the student loyalty network, during a UK-wide freshers campaign driving subscribers and app installs.
Students have predictable commuting behaviour, which makes buses unusually efficient for reaching them: the same routes, the same times, five days a week. We used bus passenger panels for the inside-the-journey dwell that converts awareness into action, and built them around the campaign's tactical centrepiece, digital ad vans parked directly outside universities where no conventional media existed at all. Large formats on student arterial routes and digital 6-sheets at stations completed the frequency.
The brand saw a strong uptick in subscriptions and app installs across the cities and universities where the campaign ran, with their Marketing Manager confirming their data team had "definitely seen a great uptick in the targeted cities.”

One Day Agency designed and produced a full bus wrap for Raventós Codorníu, the first high-impact format of the brand's debut UK campaign.
The wrap was not bought purely for impressions. This was a Spanish client advertising in the UK for the first time, so we used the bus to generate goodwill and PR, taking advantage of how recognisable British icons are overseas. The bus was photographed alongside London landmarks in a one-day event, and those images went into our reporting, to their PR agency and internally to their own teams, where they landed with real enthusiasm.
It kickstarted a campaign that also used bus stops, Underground formats, supermarket screens and roadside large formats. Brand interest peaked 40% above the previous year and Q4 sales rose 35% while the cava category shrank.
