The planning/decision-making process can be the hardest and so many other things can rest on you making the right choice.

But how to choose the right answer? 🤔

Well, we’re here to help you with that.

Choosing which social media channels will showcase your brand the best doesn’t have to be difficult. So, we made it simple.

It’s just what we do. 🤷

Here are 3 simple questions you need to ask to choose which social media channels are right for your brand.

1.     Who are your target audience? Where are your target audience? Why are your target audience?

Okay, you caught us. This is technically 3 questions in 1, but they’re all so important.

You see, it isn’t enough just to know who your target audience is. You need to know where they are, too.

Not IRL (although, that’s certainly something to consider, especially when choosing times to post) but also knowing where they are online.

If your audience are mostly on Instagram, for example, you will struggle to reach them elsewhere.

But knowing where they are online isn’t enough either. You need to consider what attracts them to that platform to know how your brand can become apart of their online experience and, later, their purchasing patterns.

2.     What do you provide, and how can you prove it?

It’s not enough to provide the product or products that your target audience needs or wants. You need to prove it.

Every day, consumers are inundated with countless ads and brands.

How can you use social media to show what you have to offer?

Which platforms will allow you to show this clearly?

3.     Audio, visual, video or written?

This one is - and we can't stress this enough -incredibly important, and often overlooked. 

The simplest truths often are, aren't they?

But once you've deduced who your audience is who your brand is, and how the two shall meet, it is important to also consider the nature of the social media channel/s you plan to use. 

Does your brand say it best with audio?

Consider: podcast sponsorships.

Can you hook consumers with your brand's witty, relatable personality through text?

Consider: Twitter or Tumblr.

Will visual graphics allow your brand to stand out and entice consumers with satisfying visuals?

Consider: Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook.

Is video the future for your brand?

Consider: YouTube or Tiktok, of course!

At this point, you might be left with one of two options. 

A big green circle around a social media platform that will show off your brand in all the best & brightest ways!

Or several big green circles around several social media platforms that, when used together, let your brand sparkle and entice consumers in all corners of the internet. 

If you said, “hell yes!” to the first, congrats! All that is left to do is implement the correct media strategy
